BIGSTEVE LABS / THE LAB
A working lab, not a startup pitch.
BigSteve Labs is an independent AI research, testing, and technology lab operating at the edge of agents, automation, reliability, and emerging technology. We turn promising ideas into working systems — then explain what happened, with the evidence attached.

01 · SCOPE
What the lab works on.
Six disciplines spanning the distance between a promising demo and a system you can depend on.
01
AI Reliability
Deterministic failure-and-recovery testing for agent workloads.
02
Agent Systems
Practical agents with bounded tools and accountable handoffs.
03
Automation
Pipelines built to survive rate limits, outages, and interruption.
04
Model & Tool Evaluation
Structured comparison with confidence levels and suitability flags.
05
Applied AI Research
Experiments with documented methods, results, and limitations.
06
Experimental Systems
Prototypes that find the edges of what works.
02 · METHOD
Build. Verify. Document. Improve.
The lab’s working loop, applied to every project and report. Claims are separated from evidence; corrections are recorded in public.
01
Build
Start with a real workflow or constraint, then create the smallest useful system that can be tested.
02
Verify
Check facts against primary sources and label maintainer claims, assumptions, and untested behavior.
03
Document
Preserve sources, decisions, limitations, and correction history so others can evaluate the work.
04
Improve
Use review and measured results to make the next version clearer, safer, and more useful.
03 · PRINCIPLES
How the lab presents itself.
Three working principles govern everything published under the BigSteve Labs name.
EVIDENCE OVER CLAIMS
Credibility is established by real work: project results, test records, technical findings, and documented limitations — including documented failures. If something cannot be verified, it is not stated as fact.
BIG ON THE SURFACE, REAL UNDERNEATH
Projects should feel like releases. Tests should feel like events. Results should carry weight. The presentation earns the attention — the work earns the trust.
CONTROLLED ACCESS
The lab reveals enough to establish credibility and curiosity without exposing unnecessary internal detail. You don’t see the celebrity every day — but when the doors open, what’s inside should be worth seeing.
04 · WHERE IT BEGAN
Launched 07-28-2026.
BigSteve Labs officially launched on July 28, 2026 with three public projects: MR BIG, BigSteve Buzz Desk, and Home AI Lab. Since launch, the lab has added a corrected first report under the Buzz Desk, a demonstrated agent-recovery scenario, and an independent reliability testing program that operates as its own unlisted property.
STATUS LANGUAGE
Every project page distinguishes released work, active work, experiments, and future intentions. Inclusion in the portfolio is not a production-readiness claim.
PROJECT: BIGSTEVE — One Spec, Many Builders
This website is itself an experiment: multiple independent AI builders, one frozen specification, one strongest result.
